Two new CHAMBER BOARD members announced; Kampman takes on new role

Ken English and Rick McQueen have joined the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and Kevin Kampman has been named vice chairman of the board’s Executive Committee.

 

English is vice president and regional branch manager for Charter One Bank, and oversees the overall profit, administration, sales and service performances for 13 branches and more than 100 retail banking colleagues in Canton. Prior to joining Charter One in 2005, he spent eight years as retail branch manger for First National Bank and Sky Bank. English is a graduate of Youngstown State University, with a bachelor’s in finance. He has served as Charter One’s United Way campaign chairman and is a member of the Leadership Stark County class of 2009.

 

McQueen began his career at the Akron- Canton Airport as airport accountant in 1982. Promoted to president and CEO at the airport in 2008, his core responsibilities include leading a 47-member team of airport employees, strategic planning, and managing the new CAK 2018 Capital Improvement Program; a 10-year, $110 million plan that includes a 600 ft. runway extension. He graduated from Walsh College with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in accounting and finance. He serves on the Walsh University Advisory Board. Prior to his employment at the airport, Rick worked for Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young).

 

Kampman was named publisher of The Repository in June 2007. In addition to his responsibilities with the Canton-based newspaper, he also oversees management of The (Massillon) Independent, The Times-Reporter in Dover-New Philadelphia and The Suburbanite in Green. Kampman began his career in the newspaper industry in 1980 and he joined GateHouse Media, the company that owns the Ohio-based papers, from Birmingham, Ala., where he served as chief operating officer of Community First Newspapers, a subsidiary of Community Newspaper Holdings Inc.

 

Kampman has served on the Board of Directors for the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce since January of 2007.He also serves on the boards of United Way of Greater Stark County, Inland Press Association and Kent State Stark Advisory Council.A native of the Cleveland area, he graduated with an education degree from the University of Akron.
