Dear Grandchild, I am so pleased you are staying in Canton!
I can’t wait to say this to my grandchildren when they begin their careers and families right here in Canton/Stark County! Why am I so confident today that they will choose to stay here in the future? How can I know that they’re destined for this community? My belief stems from the growth initiatives happening right here in our corner of the world, and the incredible work being done by organizations such as ArtsinStark, Downtown Canton Special Improvement District, Canton/Stark County Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, ystark!, Canton Tomorrow Inc. and other local, community- minded foundations. Need I go on?
My own initiative, Canton Cabaret Dinner Theatre, a non-profit production arm of the Rainbow Repertory Company, is likewise focused on growing the profile and economy for Canton. We provide a professional dinner theatre with a full orchestra, a resident company of professional singers and dancers, and a repertoire of original musicals written by company members. We can even produce specialized entertainment for events large and small. All of this incredible entertainment is local – and our initiative was born out of a need.
Canton is evolving. It is discovering ways to entice residents and visitors alike to enjoy the assets the community has to offer. The arts and community organizations that flourish around the county are a testament to Canton’s future. I’m certain that when my grandchildren consider where to put down roots, they’ll select Canton/Stark County in order to thrive.
