Young professionals poised for the future

New class of Spotlight participants complete program

Thirty-three young professionals recently celebrated their participation in the 2008 Spotlight Stark County short course, a program of Leadership Stark County. These individuals work or live in Stark County and represent the diverse businesses, professions, cultural backgrounds and geographic regions that comprise Stark County.

The six-week curriculum included personal leadership development, walking tours of downtown Massillon and Canton, a political overview, and involvement in a community service project. The Office of Corporate and Community Services of Kent State University Stark Campus facilitated the personal and professional training portions of the program. The program concluded on Dec.9 at the Canton Museum of Art. Local non-profit organizations are encouraged to recruit these participants for volunteer service.
