Don Brighenti has been named director of development for Project Rebuild Inc. Project Rebuild works with out-of-school, unemployed and under-employed youth, helping them to complete their high school diploma while learning marketable skills in the construction trades. Brighenti has more than 20 years experience in nonprofit fundraising, marketing and public relations working for agencies such as United Way, YWCA and Planned Parenthood during his career.

His practice is focused in the areas of professional and general corporate law, federal and state income taxation and commercial litigation. The Alliance native attended John Carroll University where he earned a BS/BA with degrees in Finance and Economics. After College, Mr. Hunt attended Case Western Reserve University School of Law where he earned his Juris Doctorate. He was the American Bar Association Moot Court Managing Director, a member of the dean’s list, and was actively involved with the law school newspaper. He is a member of the Ohio and Stark County Bar Associations and resides in Cuyahoga Falls.

 

The Aultman Foundation has announced 19 area non-profit organizations will receive the organization’s third round of grant funding totaling $125,000 to help further the Aultman Health Foundation mission with their own services in Stark, Wayne, Holmes, Carroll and Tuscarawas counties. The organizations – whose services focus on health, education and human services for the underserved, especially the poor, elderly and children – are receiving grants. Only one quarter of the charities evaluated earn this highest honor. McCloud focuses her practice in the areas of estate planning, probate and trust administration and elder law. Stark State College announces record fall enrollment for the eighth consecutive year. The college will experience an increase of 10.3% over last year’s fall semester. The college expects to continue these enrollment increases in the future as a result of their dedication to workforce development. In addition, the college will open a new 43,000-square-foot, $9 million Health Sciences building in 2009 in order to keep pace with growing enrollment and the high demand for health care programs and graduates. The building is made possible through generous organizations and individuals – Stark State raised $1.9 million in private support for the building, equipment and scholarships.

 

Goodwill’s Canton Industrial Services Facility, a non-profit industrial subcontractor specializing in packaging and light assembly, has recently achieved its third recertification in ISO 9001:2000 without design, with no major or minor nonconformities. Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio Inc. was only the seventh Goodwill in the world to receive ISO certification during its initial quality assessment in 2004. The certification allows Goodwill to be recognized as an ISO-approved business in more than 130 countries.
