KIMONO & the arts sweep February BUSINESS AFTER HOURS

Prepare for a cultural encounter at the February Business After Hours, hosted by ArtsinStark at the Cultural Center for the Arts Great Court. Learn about KIMONO as Art: The Landscapes of Itchiku Kubota and KIMONOfest – all the incredible events surrounding this once-in-a-lifetime international exhibit. You’ll also learn about all of the exhilarating creative events happening in Stark County arts, including developments in the Arts District, First Friday sneak-peeks and other special upcoming tidbits.

The centerpiece of the display is his 30-piece landscape kimono panorama, “Symphony of Light.” An homage to nature and the passing of seasons, “Symphony of Light” consists of fifteen kimono depicting autumn and fifteen depicting winter. The ten additional KIMONO in the exhibit celebrate Kubota’s reverence for the natural world of Japan.

 

Japanese delicacies will be provided by A1 Japan Steakhouse and there will be a sushi chef on site demonstrating these delectable delights! Don’t miss this month’s truly unique door prize – ArtsinStark is providing a Japanese-themed gift basket with four tickets to the KIMONOfest Sumo wrestling event to be held in March!
