Three area leadership programs — Leadership Stark County, Leadership Akron and Leadership Medina County — are now accepting applications for their 2012-2013 classes. Each leadership program equips participants for community involvement and leadership.
Leadership Stark County, a department of the Canton Regional Chamber of Commerce, is accepting applications for its 2012-2013 Signature Class.
Leadership Stark County will offer a “Better Boardsmanship” training seminar on Thursday, Jan. 26, from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., for members of local non-profit boards, agency staff and interested community members. The seminar is being offered to ensure that non-profit agencies and their board members have access to best practices and current trends.
Leadership Stark County is seeking applicants for its Government Leadership Academy through Jan. 20. The Government Leadership Academy offers elected officials, appointed officials and aspiring candidates leadership development skills and education about local and regional government. Jeff Matthews, chair, Stark County Republican Party and Randy Gonzalez, chair, Stark County Democratic Party, both recommend the academy. The program will begin Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012.
