In this role, Floyd is responsible for the overarching marketing and communications strategy for the Chamber and its six departments, as well as promotion and publicity for over 70 events. She manages public relations activities on behalf of the chamber and writes two publications: Action Newsletter and Downtown Developments. In addition, she oversees the Chamber marketing and events staff.
“Collyn joins the Chamber with an extensive communications background, including several years in a digital marketing role. She brings a wealth of experience to both our traditional and online marketing efforts. We’re thrilled to have her on board as we celebrate our 100th year in 2014 and beyond,” said Dennis P. Saunier, President & CEO of the Chamber.
Floyd comes to the Chamber from The Karcher Group, where she spent eight years in various marketing capacities, most recently as a content marketing strategist. Her responsibilities included content marketing oversight and implementation for TKG and a number of its clients, as well as tasks such as writing, blogging, social media strategy, and more.
“As a longtime Canton/Stark County resident and professional, I’m passionate about ensuring we have a vibrant community both culturally and economically. I couldn’t be more excited to apply my marketing and events experience to this role,” said Floyd.
Floyd obtained her bachelor’s in political science and a certificate in writing from St. Louis University. A Missouri native, she and her husband, along with their three boys, have called Canton home for the last 14 years. Collyn spends her free time exploring and blogging about all that Northeast Ohio has to offer, as well as volunteering with the Junior League of Stark County and Holy Cross Academy-St. Paul Campus.
